About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior IT Support professional to join our IT Department. The successful candidate will provide first and second-line IT support to office and vessel personnel, ensuring that technical issues are resolved promptly while delivering a high standard of service.

The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise across a broad range of IT systems and technologies. Key responsibilities:

  • Provide first and second-line IT support to office and vessel users.
  • Response to and resolve IT incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Install, configure, and maintain virtual machines, desktop and laptop computers, printers, mobile devices and peripherals.
  • Monitor device performance and ensure their availability and reliability.
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and business applications.
  • Assist with user account administration, and access requests.   
  • Support remote users using remote support tools.
  • Maintain IT asset records and documentation.
  • Escalate infrastructure and complex technical issues.
  • Assist with hardware deployments and equipment replacement.
  • Ensure IT policies and Cyber Security procedures are followed.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers when required.
  • Participate in IT projects as required.

Skills & Experience 

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant IT qualification or Apprenticeship is desirable.
  • Previous experience in an IT support or Helpdesk role would be preferred.
  • Good knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Basic Active Directory user administration.
  • Experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware.
  • Knowledge of printers and peripheral devices.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN connectivity, and wired/wireless network troubleshooting.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and user support skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
