About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior IT Support professional to join our IT Department. The successful candidate will provide first and second-line IT support to office and vessel personnel, ensuring that technical issues are resolved promptly while delivering a high standard of service.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise across a broad range of IT systems and technologies. Key responsibilities:
- Provide first and second-line IT support to office and vessel users.
- Response to and resolve IT incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain virtual machines, desktop and laptop computers, printers, mobile devices and peripherals.
- Monitor device performance and ensure their availability and reliability.
- Install, configure and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and business applications.
- Assist with user account administration, and access requests.
- Support remote users using remote support tools.
- Maintain IT asset records and documentation.
- Escalate infrastructure and complex technical issues.
- Assist with hardware deployments and equipment replacement.
- Ensure IT policies and Cyber Security procedures are followed.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers when required.
- Participate in IT projects as required.
Skills & Experience
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant IT qualification or Apprenticeship is desirable.
- Previous experience in an IT support or Helpdesk role would be preferred.
- Good knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Basic Active Directory user administration.
- Experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware.
- Knowledge of printers and peripheral devices.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN connectivity, and wired/wireless network troubleshooting.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and user support skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
