Lomar Shipping is a market leader in high-quality international ship management services. Based in London, Bremen and Singapore, our dedicated teams oversee all aspects of ship management from chartering and crewing through to sophisticated vessel modifications and construction. CB Maritime in Rijeka, Croatia, is our dedicated crewing agency for the tanker fleet.

We work with first class suppliers and service providers around the world to provide a full range of expert ship management services. Using a combination of in-house technical management and third-party managers, our engineering specialists oversee the careful maintenance and day-to-day running of ships amid today’s increasingly complex regulatory parameters, including the International Safety Management Code (ISM), Flag State, Port State control and Classification Society rules.

We provide technical and marine superintendent services for a wide range of vessel types in the wet, dry and container sectors. Our superintendents also oversee and supervise new building constructions, dry dockings and repair projects with superintendents on-site to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards and specifications.

Commercial Insight

Our commercial department is staffed by a highly qualified team of international in-house brokers with extensive experience in all of the market sectors in which Lomar is active. This expertise stretches across container vessels, bulk carriers, chemical and product tankers and offshore supply vessels.

Training commitment

The best ship management services depend on the finest crews - which is why we place the greatest possible emphasis on selecting, training and retraining high-calibre seafarers. Our CB Maritime operation in Rijeka, Croatia, is a dedicated crewing agency for the tanker fleet. Elsewhere, we work closely with specialist agents and the most advanced training establishments, we attract experienced, enthusiastic and disciplined seamen of all ranks. We then monitor training requirements and educate our crews in a modern, sophisticated ship management environment. For many years Lomar has hosted deck and engine cadets as part of their officer education and training programs. As a company, we accommodate up to 50 cadets each year, supporting their growth and development on board our vessels.

NEWBUILDINGS

During an extensive fleet renewal program between 2012-21, Lomar employed a team of experts to supervise the construction of new buildings on-site at the shipyards. 43 ECO new buildings (container ships and 'Ultramax' bulk carriers) were built and delivered by first-class Chinese yards for over $1 billion. Our Site Teams undertook and managed this whole process - from new build contracting and negotiations, as well as approval of the design specification, through to plan approval and supervision of an entire new building project to ensure the best possible result.
