Frances Steel
General Counsel

Frances Steel joined Lomar as General Counsel in 2013. 

With a wealth of experience in legal matters, she is responsible for the legal aspects of the sale and purchase and newbuilding programme and all related financing transactions – both structuring and execution – along with legal issues on other commercial and operational matters as they arise.

Having qualified as a solicitor in 1991 at Lovell White Durrant, Frances was an associate then partner in the asset finance department of Watson, Farley & Williams LLP dealing with all aspects of ship finance, including debt and lease financing, as well as commercial agreements in the maritime sector. Her practice has always had a strong international element, working both for banks and owners, and she has spent periods working in Paris and New York. Frances is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales.
